Launch of Aldersyde wines 3-4 July

We are getting excited! Our official launch day is just over a month away!!

Mark the first weekend in July down in your diaries for a trip up to the Perth Hills and help us celebrate the release of our new wines.

It is a fantastic time to visit the region, with all the vines showing their glorious autumn hues of yellow, red and orange in contrast to the vibrant green on the hillsides.

Come and share in our excitement on 3-4 July and receive a special opening 10% discount on all dozens. For the first time, our entire range of wines (other than the newly bottled Saignee) will be open for tasting at cellar door 1-5pm Saturday and 10am-5pm Sunday. We would love to hear what you think about our wines and the opportunity to show you around our little family winery.

Hope to see you then!

Wow, that's so exciting Larissa, I wish I were able to be there for your official opening! Best of luck for the weekend, and I look forward to reading about how it went on your blog!

Sharlene.

Where are some label pictures?

I just wanted to say i was BLOWN AWAY by your Cabernet and Chardonnay the other day!! Margaret River move over! Perth Hills is looking sexy!! I will definitely come up and take advantage of your opening sale. How much is the discount on your dozens normally? ie how much will I save by buying during your opening weekend? And do any restaurants sell your wine. They bloody well should - tiny quantity, local, elegant wines that are cheap! You rock, girl!!

Thanks Marc! *blush* I guess the philosophy behind our pricing is that we want to be faced with the problem of selling out each year.

I want people to drink my wine, not collect it. And price seems to be a major motivator in this department.

But having said that, I think I have a cracker Malbec in barrel at the moment. Only 2 barrels from our 1974 vines - intense colour with such absorbing complexity on the palate and delicate violets/blackcurrant aromas. Fingers crossed this wine will sleep peacefully through a year in oak and wake up around this time next year to be my first reserve label.

I digress. The discount in a few week's time will mean that if, say, you buy a dozen Shiraz for $170, you will get another 10% off the dozen, making the price $153.

Restaurants. Yes, I have had a couple of fabulous restaurants in Sydney contact me this year. I will let you know details once the deals are finalised. It is a shame noone in Perth has yet approached us, but it is a hard time for the industry at the moment and we are a new, untried kid on the block. It seems that Sydneysiders are prepared to take more risks than Sandgropers..

Thanks again for your support. See you in a fortnight!
